The Art of Winter Layering

Clip from Japanese magazine

For those of us in Fairfield County who get the winter blahs fear no more.  Winter is always my favorite time Connecticut because you can express yourself through the art of layering.  As an image consultant/fashion stylist I teach people how to buy a few key pieces in their winter wardrobe and layer them on.

Brilliant colored scarves, gloves and hats all can be mixed and matched to create a warm, cozy ensemble.
Long sleeve shirts under cashmere sweaters and large woolen throws topped with a large wrap around scarf.....warmth is the the key.

For those who prefer black the winter is the perfect time to make a statement.  Wearing black in the winter often exudes elegance.

To top things off try a turtleneck sweater dress with a necklace or bracelet worn on the outside, on top of the sweater or big ornate earrings.  Pearls are a personal favorite of mine.

A man's wardrobe should always include a lush pea coat and patterned scarves.  A signature winter hat worn throughout the season defines your image.

Layering clothing can make an effortless yet polished look.
