Chicago designer Maria Pinto is in the spotlight this year for dressing Michelle Obama all throughout the democratic campaign. Maria's design career began after graduating in Fine Arts at the School of Art Institute in Chicago, continuing her education at Parsons and FIT in New York City. Starting in accessories, Maria fine tuned her flair for design as an associate for Geoffrey Beene and costume designer at the Joffrey Ballet.
Maria combines European luxurious fabrics and classic American design. Her designs have earned her the prestigious Gold Coast Fashion Award.
I'm curious to see IF Maria will be dressing Michelle Obama for the her husband's Inauguration into office tomorrow. I wait with baited breath to see what sensational design our future first lady will present herself in.
