Bad Easter Fashion

Yesterday I got all dolled up in a beautiful floral dress and cute cropped jacket to go to the super bowl of masses on Easter Sunday.  Despite the cold weather and blustery winds I felt the need to get dressed in my spring finest as I do every year on this very special occasion.

This was not the case for most people in the New Canaan, CT church I attended.  Of course you had those dressed in their typical Vineyard Vines and such but there was an overwhelming amount of people dressed like they were going to a night club or just stumbled home from one still intoxicated.

The first offender was a woman in a plaid skirt, knee high hooker boots and to top the fabulous outfit off had on a black turtle neck with cut out shoulders.....CUT OUT SHOULDERS.  Even on Halloween I question anything with cut out shoulders.   GROSS!

The second fashion victim must have been confused to where she was and thought she was going to the Kentucky Derby.  About 20 years old she wore a GIANT hat Pumice colored long silk flapper like dress and fake pearls.  Very costume like and obviously trying to make a fashion statement but failed horribly.  I couldn't help but noticing as I went up for communion the half peeled off vixen red nail polish she so thoroughly enjoyed chewing on all through the service.  REALLY GROSS!  I just had to give her the stink eye as she waltzed up the pew.

There were so many other fashion disasters among the men who failed to comb their hair and I couldn't tell you the number of awful bow ties that were present.  Not to mention their matching children's bow ties Oh Lordy!  The awfulness!

Last but not least as we pulled out of the driveway an eighty year old woman struggling to her car in 4 inch stiletto heels, a shimmering gold leather jacket...yes GOLD leather and skin tight leather rodeo pants to match her rodeo hat.  Needless to say I was barely able to eat my brunch after such a site.

Hope everyone had a fun and fashionable Easter!
