Michael Jackson Memorial - Style Icon
On my recent trip to Bermuda at dinner, I was saddened to find out one of my all time favorite musicians and performers life was cut short, Michael Jackson had died suddenly in his home June 25th 2009.
I remember as a child I was totally transfixed with Michael Jackson, covering my bedroom walls with all the magazine and newspaper clippings I could get of him. I must have watched the thriller video a thousand times just to get all the moves down.
Later on in junior high school I had briefly dated Macaulay Culkins older brother and got the chance to listen to the song "Black or White" weeks before it came out. Yeah I thought I was so cool!!! I always thought it was hilarious when I called the Culkin house to speak to my crush and was told he had to call me back because "Michael" was on the other line. Needless to say Michael either called a lot or the boy just wasn't that into me.
Michael Jackson aside from all the side show drama was one of the greatest performers and hardest working men in show business the world has ever seen and will truly be missed.
His personal style was iconic and has been repeated by many over the years. His flair for fashion expressed a regalness, power and definite eccentricity. He left his mark on the music world as well as fashion. I'm sure we will be seeing many more hints of his style cascading the catwalks for years to come.
