Skirt made of Crisp Packets- Emily Willis UK designer
Our dear friend Kayla and model from the Uk sent over an oldie but goody from her designer friend Emily Willis. (yes thats the gorgeous Kayla modeling in the pics)
This skirt was designed for Emilys foundation course and made out of brightly colored crisp packets (translation for my US readers - potato chip bags) that were baked in an oven to shrivel up. My mother would have killed me if I baked anything other than shrinky dinks in the oven!! I would've surely burned down the house.
I think it's funky fresh, mixing quirky and sexy with the peek-a-boo windows on the sides.
The packets look like flowers from afar!!
Please send all new designers pic's to laura@iLookok.com to be displayed on the site.

My little brother loved to shrink the crisp packets under the grill on a regular basis, nearly setting the kitchen on fire, my parents were out, and lucky old me was indoors and put out the fire under the grill. If done properly however, you do get a unique result, like the above image. Very arty, almost ''punky''.

Yes Laura it does look like flowers.
Charles Worth Redefines Haute Couture in 1858.
"Haute Couture during the Victorian period was an ideal foil for conspicuous consumption. Fragile gauze dresses decorated with flowers and ribbons that were made for wealthy young women were only intended to be worn for one or two evenings and then cast aside as they soiled and crushed so easily"
